Blue has been a popular choice in kitchen design this year, backing up Pantone’s selection of Classic Blue as their colour of the year, due to its deep endearing shade with a calming yet dramatic feel.
From this, we can see an increasing number of homes bringing in blue tones through decor, accessories and furniture.
Symphony offer a selection of blue kitchens, from deep Indigo shades similar to Classic Blue, through to muted tones.
Coastal Inspired: Hacienda Nordic Blue
This finish is the newest blue shade into the Symphony collections, and is a bright and breezy finish. Combined here with our Light Driftwood Hacienda finish, this design has a beachy and relaxed feel.
Nordic Blue is suited best to a home with neutral decor and plenty of natural lighting to provide a fitting canvas for this kitchen to stand out
Classically Dramatic: Princeton Indigo
Much like our Indigo paint finish the Indigo shade available in our Princeton collection is more on the statement side of the blue finishes we offer.
Princeton is one of our versatile ranges, marrying traditional and contemporary for a classic style. We often combine this range with the co-ordinating Pearl Grey shade, for a mix and match look in the design.
Style these finishes with light finish worktops, such as Arctic Marble which brighten up this darker blue tone.
Choices for You: Our Painted Blue Finishes
Our painted finishes offer a range of blue tones, which allows you to consider a full range of blue hues, and find the one for you.
Our Indigo finish is our deepest and most dramatic blue painted option and is one of the most popular tones for 2020. We love how this colour is styled with copper accessories, and contrasting chalk-white cabinets which suit the dark shade.
If you are more a grey interior fan, then Duck Egg Blue and Sklyon Grey may be the blue kitchen shade for you, with a grey undertone which is more on the natural side of blue kitchen options.
Complimentary Accessories
The identity of a blue kitchen can be significantly affected by the choice of accessories that are designed alongside the main kitchen design.
Light and bright worktops suit all our blue finishes, we would recommend finishes such as Cloudy Cement, Antarctic Mable or Marble Sirocco are just a few of the finishes we would recommend. If you are opting for a blue finish in one our more traditional kitchens then an oak or light wooden worktop may be best suited. Our Chalet Oak or Pastel Oak worktops look beautiful against the Indigo blue choices.
Handles are another accessory which can drastically change the overall look of a kitchen. Brass handles combine effortlessly with finishes such as Cooks Blue and Nordic blue, whilst Copper is best co-ordinated with the deep Indigo finishes. Alternatively, a chrome or stainless steel may be a classic choice, allowing the blue tone do all the talking.
