So, when new trends are announced, it’s essential to take some time to consider if these will work in your home. You may fall in love instantly with one look over another but take a moment to think about whether it suits the style of your property, your lifestyle, your way of cooking, dining and using the space. Here at Symphony, we like to think we embrace new trends while also ensuring they are enduring and timeless at the same time. So, when you buy a Symphony kitchen, you know you are getting a design and style that will last.
Whether you’re looking to renovate, remodel or reconfigure your kitchen in 2023, we’ve got the inside info on the latest trends and how you can integrate these into your own space to make them work for you. The kitchen, as we all know, is the heart of the home. Now more than ever, we want our kitchens to fulfil many tasks and functions. It’s a place to cook, eat, work, rest and entertain. And while it needs to deliver in terms of practicality and function, we also want a kitchen that looks good, whatever we’re doing and whatever the time of day or season.
With this in mind, here are our predicted kitchen trends for 2023..
Dark and dramatic
There is a clear demand for dark and dramatic kitchen designs with a natural twist for 2023. Whether that’s a deep-toned wood effect cabinet or an organic stone worksurface, homeowners are looking towards these finishes more and more. Our new Turin kitchen in Dark Walnut caters to this trend perfectly. It’s a look that takes last year’s embracing of natural materials one step further and works in modern interiors as well as classic schemes. This means it can complement all kinds of property and sleek handleless doors as well as integrated handles and statement knobs and pulls.
Forest green
Shaker-style painted doors are perfect for shades of dark forest green. Their in-frame timber panels highlight the natural beauty of this on-trend shade beautifully. Classic designs such as our Harvard kitchen in Hunter Green is bold and instantly eye-catching the moment you enter the room. Natural green cabinetry is a trend that became instantly popular in 2022 and it looks set to last, as we continue to bring the outside in with our colour schemes and material choice. It’s the perfect palette for contrasting brushed metallic hardware such as cabinet handles, sockets, switches and lighting as well as a statement tap and standout sink. It also works wonderfully with a reclaimed timber or stone floor.
Sustainable solutions
Sustainability is a huge factor influencing our purchasing decisions and it’s no different when it comes to the kitchen. Offering sustainable solutions such as kitchens made from 100% recycled board is part of our ongoing commitment to working in harmony with the planet. In fact, five of our kitchen designs are 100% recycled and can be installed as part of any eco project or to add and enhance an eco-friendly home. Take your pick from our Urban Grey Walnut, Urban Concrete, Hacienda Grey, Hacienda Light Driftwood and Turin Dark Stone designs. Sustainability of course is not a trend – it’s a way of life and this is something that will continue to develop and evolve over time, as our homes become ever-more environmentally conscious.
Metallic accents
Bold metallic accents have become more popular in the kitchen as we continue to become braver in our design choices. This is partially down to the endless inspiration that can be found on social media platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest. However, a less-is-more approach is favoured by many. Create a subtle statement by using copper Inline trim handles, which can be matched to brassware throughout the space. If you prefer to go all-in, embrace the metallic look with a metallic splashback and metallic accents and accessories throughout.
Mixed materials
Mixing materials is an easily achievable trend for 2023 and it’s a style that appeals to those who favour a more eclectic look. Choosing contrasting materials and colours for cabinets, worksurfaces, flooring, wall tiles and splashbacks creates a relaxed feel that’s ideal for open-plan kitchens. It’s also great if you’re on a tight budget, as you don’t need to buy everything all at once.
